His & Hers by Alice Feeney (Flatiron Books)
The truth is never absolute; everyone has their own, so someone is always lying?
Anna Andrews is an aspiring journalist, but when a murder occurs in the village where she grew up, she hesitates to cover the event. Even Detective Jack Harper has his own misgivings about the murder and his deep involvement in the case.
Alice Feeney knows how to confuse the reader so that from the beginning to the end of the book, he wonders who is the culprit and who is the real victim. Even though I realized this before the end of the book, the novel is more than tense; it is full of emotions and mind games. It touches on anxiety, bullying, loneliness, and attitudes toward the elderly in the community.
I strongly recommend it!
