Cabin Fever by Alex Dahl (Head of Zeus)

Kristina is a successful therapist in central Oslo. When her client, the novelist Leah, doesn't turn up to the session, Kristina starts to worry since Leah was really distressed and bruised at their last meeting. As she knows Leah's troubled past, she tries to find and rescue her. Leah has a cabin in a remote location, so maybe she is there?

The narrative is dark, full of streams of Kristina's thoughts, bygone secrets and marital problems with ambitious politician.

And nothing is as it seems.

The pace of the novel is slow, characters difficult and unsympathetic and the ending predictable. As I usually adore good Scandi thriller, I just couldn't warm to the Cabin Fever.
