Death Deserved by Jørn Lier Horst and Thomas Enger (Orenda Books)
Finally, a classic crime novel with experienced detectives, a tense and consistent story, an interesting narrative, and characters, without unnecessary ballast (such as various personality or sexual deviations, etc.). From beginning to end, the reader guesses who the perpetrator is and what his motive is.
Before his autobiography is published, the famous Norwegian sports legend disappears. The first at the scene of her disappearance is Emma Ramm, the young journalist. She connects with Detective Blix and his team. Together, they go on the hunt for a criminal who kidnaps and kills famous people, tagging each one with a number. As time pass, Blix is increasingly worried as his estranged daughter takes part in a reality show.
That being said, the book is quite refreshing in all the flood of "complicated" thrillers, the characters are relatable and the story is believable.
I recommend it!
